We sneaked out at the darkest hour of the night around 03:00 all clad in our ninja black outfit to play as JE factory to pop up 400+ km further at the field in Solms around 09:00. With lack of sleep but pumped up we broke out of cover onto the field eager to play our first tournament game on the new Millennium London Layout.
This weekend was a true rollercoaster, experiencing, serious amounts of climbs, drops and high G turns during the Bitburg weekend, these are the periods where you learn where you stand as a team.
With our first team competing this season in the SPL we learned the last two seasons how to win and taught many others some lessons on how to lose. This time around we learned a new lesson ourselves, how to loose and step over that hurdle. Off course we work hard to avoid these lessons, but when you get them you better pay attention and learn from it. Then you can come out stronger next time.
Before you all get confused here is some paintball history;
Once upon a time about two seasons ago in 09, our team was just born and while we all rejoiced and trained hard. JE paintball started up a new team to compete in the DPL region series. Their goal was to build up a squad of all the great and talented ballers from different teams training at the JE indoor hall, later better known as the Crazy ranch.
Now we happened to train there as well and since we were not playing the DPL we were asked to join in, an honor we couldn’t refuse and off-course it never hurts to get some extra tournament time. This ragtag team proved to be quite successful and a lot of fun. We had a great season with the JE-factory team only dropping one game in the series against Onfire and beating the runner-up team the Herford Mohawks at the last leg and so securing the title, promoting to the 2nd Bundesliga. During this season we had so much fun and grew on the field that some joined Sabotage for the next season as full players.
The second season we got some extra talent aboard and started off again. We had a great season but just missed the promotion to the first Bundesliga. During this season we turned from a good ragtag team into a real solid team with the result of all remaining JE-factory players joining Amsterdam Sabotage.
So this season we roam the DPL fields with two teams, JE-Factory aka Amsterdam Sabotage 1 in the 2nd Bundesliga and our new second team that will compete in the region west series.
Finally we arrived in Malaga for the first BIG event of the year. Ready for war and pumped to play we set out to the field to check it out. Of course Malaga is a beautiful location, but the first thing we noticed was the hard wind, big waves and menacing clouds forming above us. Could it be true?
Was mother earth going to shit on our event once more?
